A week of Hatton Fields – Thistle Thursday

Happy Thistle Thursday!

The thistle that are growing across the fields, particularly near the Duke of Northumberland River pathway are some of the best spots to find butterflies on Hatton Fields.  So far we have recorded creeping thistle and spear thistle.  Both common plants, they are absolutely beautiful to see and they are very valuable to our butterflies and birds.

From July 12th, the Butterfly conservation trust are keen to receive records of our UK butterflies so why dont you go and visit Hatton Fields to enjoy the beauty of the thistles that are growing on the fields as well as help to identify and record our butterflies.
